Cocksure: An Ode to Memorable Men is a retrospective of one woman’s search for love. It is the story of my quest for pleasure, satisfaction, and ultimately, a spiritual connection via the flesh. Through a deep dive into a river of memories, a lifetime of lovers flood forward, remembered here on the page - 40 men memorialized through the written word. Revered in paintings. Elevated by music. And, because I’ve always been a swallower, exalted with food.
The men featured in Cocksure all have an essay, a literary device (think free-verse, limerick, haiku), a painting - which serves as a visual tone poem of sorts - and a recipe dedicated to their unique manhood. The ten chapters of the book conclude with mix-tape playlists, because honestly, what’s sex without a soundtrack? The book begins in a linear fashion with early experiences, then diverges into themed sections where men are gathered into like-minded groups. Erotic experiences encompass all the senses, locking in the who; what; where; when; how; and why, hence the full reach around of literature, art, food, and music.
